Build 18 · Solar Warlock · PvE
Dawnblade / Solo + Group / Support, DPS & All-round

Blight the ground.
Light the Well.

Witherhoard keeps damage ticking while you work. Add Starfire's two Fusion Grenade charges, a scorching Hellion, and Well of Radiance for the team's important hold.

Damage that keeps working while you swap.

Witherhoard plus two Fusion charges.

Witherhoard blights a target or the ground. Apply it to a useful choke or priority enemy, then swap to your Solar Primary, Heavy, or grenade rather than repeatedly firing at the same spot.

Starfire Protocol adds a Fusion Grenade charge. Empowered weapon damage restores grenade energy, with more from empowered weapon final blows; Fusion Grenade defeats return Rift energy. Touch of Flame makes each Fusion explode twice.

Well is the team anchor.

Well of Radiance supports the team's position with Radiant effects and Restoration. Ember of Benevolence rewards applying healing or Radiant to allies with temporary grenade, melee, and class regeneration; Torches supplies an explicit nearby-ally Radiant trigger.

Empowering Rift also summons Hellion, whose mortar scorches enemies. It is not a Healing Rift. Between Wells, personal recovery relies on cover, safe Orb pickups, and Exodus charge shifts; Fusion kills no longer grant Resolve's Cure.

02 /

Apply, swap, support, repeat.

  1. Choose a useful lane.

Place a blight where enemies will remain or land a direct hit on a priority target. Blight is Kinetic damage: it does not automatically scorch, ignite, or trigger Solar-only perks.

  2. Set the offensive Rift.

Cast Empowering Rift from cover to summon Hellion and enable empowered weapon play. Keep firing your Primary at actual targets; do not stand exposed waiting for Witherhoard to refill every grenade.

  3. Spend a Fusion for a reason.

Throw at a manageable pack or priority enemy. Touch of Flame supplies two explosions, not two separate grenade charges spent. Fusion final blows support Starfire Rift energy; hits without kills do not satisfy that condition, and the grenade is not a personal healing tool.

  4. Buff allies, then keep firing.

Land a powered melee hit with allies nearby to apply Torches' Radiant and activate Benevolence's temporary ability regeneration. Hellion, Fusion, Snap, and Incandescent support scorch for Singeing. Collect safe Siphon/Firepower/Reaper Orbs for recovery.

  5. Place Well before the crisis.

Call the location and cover the objective or real damage window. Protect the sword from destructive placement and boss pressure. Well is not invulnerability; stay ready to leave lethal mechanics.

  6. Rotate weapons through damage.

Apply Witherhoard, land Solar Primary damage, then hit with Pyroclastic Flow to complete Bait and Switch's three-weapon requirement. Holster the rocket and use your Primary or available Fusions while Auto-Loading Holster reloads it; return once the reload completes. The first rocket completes activation, so do not count it as already benefiting from Bait and Switch. Track the buff and refresh the three-weapon sequence when needed. Refresh blight deliberately; if several teammates use Witherhoard, coordinate rather than assuming identical blights freely stack damage.

Witherhoard's optional Silent Alarm catalyst reloads it after holstering for a short time. Without it, manually reload between applications. Solar defeats from weapons or Hellion are not automatically Fusion Grenade defeats; do not count them as Starfire Rift refunds. Benevolence needs an ally receiving the relevant buff: self-only Radiant from Fever and Chill does not replace that condition, and the fragment provides no solo regeneration bonus.

Abilities

Super
Well of RadianceTeam Radiant/Restoration position, not a Phoenix Protocol refund engine or a generic promise of Starfire empowerment.
Class
Empowering RiftWeapon empowerment and current ability-regeneration utility for those inside. Chosen for Starfire; does not continuously heal like Healing Rift.
Melee
Incinerator SnapScorching spark fan and a powered-hit Torches trigger. Do not force close range when unsafe.
Grenade
Fusion GrenadeRequired for Starfire's additional charge and Touch of Flame double explosion. Not Healing Grenade.
Movement
Strafe GlideControlled movement and landings near cover.

Aspects / 2 + 2 = 4

Touch of Flame / 2 slots: Fusion Grenades explode twice. Other grenade enhancements do not matter while Fusion is equipped.

Hellion / 2 slots: class ability activation summons a Solar mortar that scorches targets. Its damage scales with the Grenade stat's enhanced benefit per current text.

No Heat Rises grenade-consumption healing or Icarus Dash is equipped. Well is a Super cast, not your normal Rift cast; do not expect it alone to summon Hellion.

Ember of Benevolence

Applying Restoration, Cure, or Radiant to allies temporarily improves your grenade, melee, and class regeneration. Use Torches near teammates; self-only buffs do not qualify. -10 Grenade. This rewards support rather than granting healing itself; do not assume uninterrupted Well uptime guarantees permanent activation.

Ember of Ashes

You apply more scorch stacks. Supports the Solar ability/Incandescent side, not Kinetic Witherhoard damage. Do not assume one grenade always ignites every target.

Ember of Singeing

Scorching enemies improves class recharge. Helps the next Empowering Rift even when a Fusion fails to secure a final blow.

Ember of Torches

Powered melee hits against combatants make you and nearby allies Radiant. -10 Grenade. Useful weapon support outside Well; not proof of Starfire's empowered-damage condition.

04 /

One Exotic chest, four Exodus pieces.

Starfire Protocol / Exotic chest

Fusion Harness: additional Fusion charge, grenade recharge from empowered weapon damage/final blows, and Rift energy from Fusion defeats.

This is a damage-and-Well hybrid rather than a dedicated medic. There is no Speaker's Sight healing turret, Phoenix Super refund, or Lunafaction reload effect. If Empowering Rift is too risky while learning, Healing Rift is a survival swap, but it gives up the explicit empowered-weapon recharge setup outside Well.

Witherhoard / Exotic weapon

Kinetic Special grenade launcher / Kinetic slot. Blights targets or an area for lingering pressure while you use another weapon or ability. Check current Tower Exotic Archive acquisition and required access/currencies.

Silent Alarm is an optional catalyst for handling and holstered reload; the base weapon still works with manual reloads. No catalyst or perfect Heavy roll is required to begin. Its damage does not gain Solar Weapon Surge.

2 pieces / Emergency Electromagnet

Shield breaks collect nearby Orbs and ammo bricks. Treat this as emergency recovery, not a reason to deliberately break shields or stand exposed in Empowering Rift.

4 pieces / Repurposed Charge

Gaining, losing, or spending Armor Charge heals you and grants brief damage reduction, scaling with the charge shifted. Orbs and timed surge decay support personal defense; allies do not receive your set healing.

Use four current, set-bonus-enabled Exodus Down pieces, deliberately kept as the easy-to-grind starter foundation. Legacy versions and ornaments do not supply these bonuses.

Three Legendary recommendations.

Weapon / slotValid perk pairRole / acquisition context
Ammit AR2Solar / Energy / Primary auto rifleStats for All + IncandescentApproachable Primary for routine enemies and scorch spread from defeats. General Legendary-pool source; check live acquisition and version.
BxR-55 Battler / updated poolSolar / Energy / Primary pulse rifleDemolitionist + IncandescentAlternative with grenade energy from weapon defeats. Listed source: Xur's Treasure Hoard in Eternity. Replaces Ammit; the two cannot be equipped together.
Pyroclastic Flow / reprisedSolar / Heavy / rocket launcherAuto-Loading Holster + Bait and SwitchUser-selected roll; confirm both perks on your copy.Swap-rotation Heavy: deal damage with Witherhoard, your Primary, and the rocket to activate Bait and Switch, then holster between rockets for automatic reloads. The older Season of the Dawn pool is different; its Auto-Loading roll does not establish this pair. The requested reprised pair could not be independently verified from the accessible perk database.

Practical final targets / 0–200.

200 Grenade / 100 Class / 50 Melee / 50 Super. First bring Grenade and Class toward 100, retain useful Super/Melee investment, then build Grenade toward 200 as gear allows. Grenade is the main damage focus; Well remains part of the planned rotation.

Final planning targets include Benevolence -10 Grenade and Torches -10 Grenade (net -20); account for both when assembling armor. They are not verified inventory totals. Preserve sensible Health/Weapons and resistance mods. Above 100 is not another identical recharge tier: 200 Grenade does not double recharge or promise endless Fusions. If your team's priority is more frequent Wells, move 50 planned Grenade points to Super (150/100/50/100) rather than claiming both spreads simultaneously.

05 /

Artifact / Queensfoil Censer.

Monument of Triumph / reviewed 24 October 2026. Keep your requested Queensfoil focus: Ammit/BxR precision hits supply Radiant, Solar fire adds Scorch, and precision defeats ignite. Witherhoard/rocket multikills can add charge; the rocket benefits from the Champion-damage and charge-spending options.

Slot / tierPerkTrigger / practical effect
1 / T1Fever and ChillRapid Solar precision hits grant Radiant; rapid Stasis precision hits grant Frost Armor. Body shots and non-precision weapons do not meet this trigger.
2 / T1Kindling TriggerWhile Radiant, Solar weapons add Scorch to an unscorched enemy; this is not unlimited extra stacks on an already scorched target.
3 / T1Blast RadiusRapid rocket or grenade-launcher defeats grant Armor Charge. Repeated boss hits without defeats do not qualify.
4 / T2Revitalizing BlastA Champion stun triggers an Ignition and clears shield stun. This is the refreshed stun-triggered effect, not Solar-ability boss Weaken.
5 / T2Anti-Champion NoseconeRockets deal extra damage to Champions. Extra damage is not itself a Champion stun.
6 / T3Rays of PrecisionSolar precision final blows while Radiant cause Ignitions. Body shots, rockets, and Kinetic blights do not qualify.
7 / T3Argent OrdnanceFiring a rocket spends one Armor Charge for rocket damage/reload benefits until reload or stow; charge consumption competes with Surges.

Fit and limits.

This is the refreshed Monument pool: Fever and Chill replaces the old Flint Striker recommendation; Revitalizing Blast now needs a Champion stun and is not boss Weaken from Fusion hits. Argent spends charge and ends on stow/reload, so it does not stay active through the whole Auto-Loading rotation. Consider Wished Into Being (T1) instead of Argent if charge is scarce. No perk makes the requested rocket roll independently verified.

Champion plan.

Bring an initial, valid Champion stun for Revitalizing Blast. Nosecone is damage, not a stun. Radiant Barrier eligibility and counter conflicts still apply; Rays needs a precision defeat, so do not rely on it against an isolated Unstoppable.

Check the activity's required types and your current in-game counter tooltips. No old seasonal auto/pulse/hand-cannon perk is assumed just because it existed in the original artifact.

Alternative direction: Encrypted Data Disk can emphasize Kinetic Witherhoard and attached Fusion Grenades through Kinetic Synthesis, Kinetic Rupture, and Sticker Shock; use a separately budgeted plan.

Sources: GameRant / seven refreshed artifact pools (19 June 2026) and Bungie Help / Adjust the Artifact (seven total perks). Select the current in-game versions if wording differs; these are build-fit recommendations, not measured damage rankings or duplicate-perk stacking exploits.

Grenade final blows create Orbs; qualifying grenade damage supports class/melee energy. Respect cooldowns: two explosions do not guarantee two Orbs or refunds.

Bomber
Rift cast gathers nearby Orbs and supports grenade energy; the next weapon final blow makes a Reaper Orb. Well is not a substitute class cast.

Prepared 24 October 2026 around the requested Witherhoard + Well pairing and Queensfoil Censer artifact. Artifact selections now use the refreshed Monument of Triumph seven-slot pool, not the original Season of the Wish unlock tree. Verify current empowerment/DoT interactions, Well behavior, mod costs, Champion counters, and acquisition after patches. No old Starfire refund percentage or free grenade loop is assumed.
